Placon in Madison, WI, has an opening for an Extrusion Process Engineer.
An individual with expertise in sheet extrusion is needed to provide technical support and leadership in the extrusion of PET and polypropylene sheets, lead continuous improvement to provide highly capable manufacturing processes, and investigate new manufacturing technologies to improve product performance and reduce cost. A strong understanding of ISO certification and ASTM testing is preferred. Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 2 years extrusion experience. Teel Plastics in Baraboo, Wisconsin, is currently searching for a full-time Process Engineer.
This position requires 5 to 10 years plastics and extrusion experience; a high proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks, Windows, and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with tooling design and automation concepts; ability to apply and support lean enterprise or lean manufacturing; capable of making advanced dimensional calculations; possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work with minimal direction / supervision.
